Traditional ways of viewing intelligence tend to focus on visual, verbal, and logical skills,
but to these the theory of multiple intelligences adds kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, and
intrapersonal skills.
Because the classroom is often designed to most comfortably meet the needs of verbal, visual, or
logical learners, you may not be aware that other students with differing styles may be learning
in other ways. If you take some time to learn about your students and consider their unique ways
of learning you may be able to help them achieve through channels more comfortable to them. There
are many learning styles and multiple intelligence inventories available on the Internet and in the
resources section of this site.
