  • Greet each person and let him or her know where to sit. If you are one of several teachers each student has, identify the class and period so that parents know they are in the correct place.

  • Begin and end your session on time.

  • If parents ask for specific feedback about their child, tell them you will be happy to talk with them privately and that you have contact information for them to do so at another time.

  • Remember to smile and reflect a positive attitude about your class and your students. Any problems that need to be discussed are handled better individually than in a group setting such as an Open House.
