Today's classrooms are more heterogeneous than ever before and your charge is to find ways to enhance learning for all students. This might involve your instructional approaches, variety in lesson planning, your classroom set-up, and varying your methods of assessment. While you probably have preferred methods of instructing and teaching, spending some time looking at your own style can help you to see your strengths and consider new ways of approaching your own teaching.

Mixing up your approaches can keep both you and your students fresh and interested in what is happening in the classroom. You might find yourself working more with technology, or having your students get involved in inquiry-based learning, or cooperative and collaborative learning, or even working in multi-age classrooms, among other approaches.

Finally, learning more about the learning styles of your students and the topic of multiple intelligences can help you to understand the diverse ways of learning that your students bring to the educational arena.
