During your college coursework, you probably were introduced to many methods of teaching. You are
probably more comfortable with some than with others, but the key to happy and successful students
is learning to vary your teaching. Your students will have different styles of learning and not
all of them will respond well to lecture or typical presentations. Consider using some of the
following strategies to vary your teaching:
Cliffhangers
Discussion
Group Work
Warm-Ups and Pre-Thinking
Role-Playing
Drawing Complex Ideas
Visual Mapping
Multiple Presentation Methods

There are many other teaching strategies available to you on the Internet and in print resources, as well as from your fellow teachers. You might even find yourself inventing some pretty successful ones yourself that you can share with others.
