As a teacher you are a professional and you represent your school and the administration of your school. You're expected to behave professionally, respectfully, and as a role model at all times. The administration will be watching how you manage yourself, your students, and your classroom. They will use what they see to interpret your success as a teacher. Naturally, you only want them to see the very best you have to offer!
Here are some, but not all, of the expectations the administration will have of you:
- To Meet the goals for student learning
- To Keep your students under control
- To Meet with parents and caregivers
- To Attend school and department meetings
- To Remain current in your field
- To Participate in school activities
- To Turn in reports and paperwork on time
- To Be fair and equitable in dealing with students
- To Assist students with disabilities and make adjustments for their success
- Various other expectations particular to your school
